Tech Experience

None of my schools have ever really been tech savy. My high school still had chalk boards my freshmen year. The internet was spotty at best and usually had to be plugged into the wall to work (forget about wireless.) For my math courses junior and senior year we went to the computer lap to do some work on this geometry type things, or to play in the mock stocks.I liked the geometry thing, mostly because I could set the dots and lines to move around and make colors all over the page. We were encouraged to bring our laptops, but no one did because you couldn't get on the internet so why bother lugging around you laptop just to take notes. It was really dumb.

Other than that my Dad works for IT in Stars Markets, so I grew up with a computer geek for a dad. The amount of times I would walk in to the kitchen with my computer and say "I broke the internet, fix it?" And now I work in IT at SNHU. I work in the Robert Frost computer lab. I'm a lab tech meaning I'm just there to help with printing issues.

I want my future students to be able to go on a computer or a device and be able to do what they would like to do with out wanting to throw their device out the window (me on a daily basis). I don't want them to be frustrated with technology or give up on doing something because it wont work. I want them to be able to work through there technical difficulties calmer than me.

Hi! My name is Jessica Wyman but I prefer to be called Jesse. I am 18 years old and a sophomore at SNHU. I Was dead set on going to Wheelock college in Boston until I went to a SNHU table at a college fair to get my brother. Then the admin guy started chatting me up and I fell in love. I didn't even fully apply to Wheelock once i had gotten my acceptance letter from SNHU.

I struggled for a while with what I wanted my major to be. I was stuck between creative writing or education. And if I chose education did I want to teach high school of younger. Then I started working in a preschool and I loved every minute of it. My munchkins were the only thing that could get a smile on my face at 7 o'clock in the morning.
